The feeling of making it across hot sand to your towel. Where time stands still and days are filled with choices rather than obligations. Umbrella afternoons and rosé evenings. Towels drying everywhere and the smell of sunblock competing with the sea air. Summer. The season of possibilities.
I hope this summer treated you well and you were able to spend time with those who matter the most. This collection is inspired by my love of the east coast and the way summer feels on its shores. Despite all the modernization, there remains a nostalgia for the past. One that brings me back year after year.

I know I know. An interesting title. But something you should know about me before we go any further, is my complete love and adoration for Billy Joel. He was my first concert. I saw him in my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand when I was a teenager and I have loved him ever since. I have seen him in concert a few more times and I even saw him coming out of his house in Sag Harbor a couple of years ago(sounds very stalker-esque but his house is on a busy corner). I loved his documentary this summer and learning about his early life as a musician.
His love for Long Island is well documented. So if you know him, send him my contact info please. I would love to give him this print. Taken between Amagansett and East Hampton on a stunning, summer day.

On the East Coast, a lobster roll graces almost every menu during those precious Summer months and a vintage Lacoste polo earns more compliments than anything trendy or new ever would. Change is viewed as an unfortunate occurrence and each stop along the eastern seaboard reminds you to slow down, breathe in the healing powers of the ocean and treasure each warm day.
Pure Americana with a nod to simpler times. For those that never want summer to end.

Marine Collection
I am drawn to the ocean because it is the greatest of equalizers. It cares not who you are or where you came from, but only that you respect her and treat her with care. When I spend time near the water, I am always better for it. This collection consists of images taken in Australia, United States and Canada.

I saw these buoys while walking around a small harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada and I was struck by the gorgeous colour combinations. Pink and Orange have always been a winning pair in my book.
The repetition of these waves, caused by the ferry boat I was on and the stunning blue colour gave me an image that will probably be one of my very favorite images that I have ever taken. I have this framed in my home and each time I look at it, it gives me a feeling of calm. And who couldn’t use more of that?
These buoys, found in a small seaside town in Nova Scotia were begging to be photographed. A lover of all things to do with the ocean, these remind me not to spend too much time away from the water.
Maine is covered in little sea side shacks that look like this which I adore. The colours in these buoys were more vibrant than I had previously seen which made me grab my camera bag to get a little closer. Scenes like this are synonymous with the beautiful state of Maine. If you have been then you know what I mean and if you haven’t, do yourself a favour and go. You won’t regret it.

I am blue and white obsessed, especially when it comes to anything nautical!
I discovered this beauty in Newport, Rhode Island and found it to be so classically American. The deep navy boat with white trim and a simple flag draped inside. One of my most traditional images and also one of my favourites.
nantucket collection
This collection was shot on the island of Nantucket. A place I have wanted to visit for years and it did not disappoint. From the stunning beaches, each more remote than the last to the cedar shingled houses and amazing restaurants.
These images are meant to express the happiness that one feels when they step off the ferry or the tiny plane on to the island, a plethora of adventure or relaxation at their fingertips, all with a sea breeze and an American flag as their background.

If you are lucky enough to arrive via ferry to the island, the Brandt Point Lighthouse greets you and lets you know in all the ways that matter, you have arrived.
Before you ask, a chilly bin is what I call a cooler…I am from New Zealand after all.
The ability to drive on some of the beaches on Nantucket is both a blessing and a curse if you ignored the tire deflating recommendations with an impulsive and very kiwi “Let’s just go for it”…
A striped towel dancing across the sands of Great Point make this one of the most fun prints of the collection.
It only took one try…jk.
If you drive a Land Rover, you are either genuinely cool or a total poser. But if you live on Nantucket, you may be both of those things but you are also smart because those “roads” are no joke.
The long ropes tied to the beautiful boats in Nantucket harbour against the blue reflections make for a nautical and timeless piece of art.
Any vintage sign that points me straight to the beach is a favourite of mine.
I am unsure what the chain and padlock are supposed to achieve but I love the added component to this simple, but beautiful print.
The beaches on Nantucket are each named with a simple number, making the “I wonder how far the closest liquor shop is” question so much easier to answer.
The blue beach balls remind me of friends, spotting that first glimpse of ocean blue and knowing that this day is going to be amazing.
When I think of Nantucket, I think of the ultimate summer playground where daydreams are encouraged and slow living is the norm.
I love how this towel, against the horizon line, looks as it it is a chair, floating in the breeze.
I have to imagine that this super fun “drink shACK” is the scene of some very fun times on the island. I need to go back to investigate. Obviously.
When your only decision to make is where to place your towel, you know you are going to have a great day.

You know those parents who couldn’t possibly pick a favourite child when asked? I am not one of those parents, when it comes to my art…
This one, is absolutely one of my new favourites. I adore how the sand, ocean and sky make a striped background for the beach balls running toward to water.
The walkway of the Brandt Point Lighthouse provides visual interest and symmetry, while the blue, white and pop of green are a beautiful colour palette.
The green waves of the east coast never cease to amaze me.

The season of bare feet, long days and sun-kissed memories. Summer is the season of outdoor living. The allergy sufferers have finally quietened down (joking, ahh choo, kind of) and we are all patting ourselves on the back for making it through another Winter, typically with a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

A destination unlike any other. Whether you have traveled here or aspire to one day, these images make the beauty of Australia enjoyable without the jet lag.
Do you see the surfer in the middle, riding the wave that would carry him all the way to the shore? And all the surfers in the background waiting their turn?
Introducing “What A Ride” to the print shop.
I watched this surfer for half an hour. He paddled enough to maintain his position but he only rode 2 waves. 2 waves in 30 minutes. That is all. While surfers all around him caught wave after wave, he waited. The two waves that he caught were incredible and then he left. It was a beautiful lesson in patience, in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
You should always use all of your sick days, especially when you live near the ocean.
The beautiful, minty green waves and the lone surfer make this a conversation piece that make you feel calm and inspired.
Growing up near the water, any image that speaks to the power and the beauty of the ocean is something I am drawn to. The many shades of turquoise and the texture of the water makes the image come alive.
